Here's the deal, I've always been a music junkie, so I bought this 80 gig thing trying to have a complete music library, all my music in my pocket. When I got to about 10,000 songs I realized I'd never, ever listen to them all. New music was lost in the, er, shuffle. So I hatched a plan, forcing myself to listen to every single song, alphabetically, by title. This blog is that project, and my attempt to document my curious unhealthy obsession and to force my musical opinions on you...sucker

elliot smith was one of the best singer/songwriters of the last 20 years and he's dead now so if you dont at least respect his music at least respect the dead.

I never get the "at least respect the dead thing". John Denver was probably a nice guy, and he died in a tragic way...but does this keep me from saying his music is lame and annoyingly sappy. No?
Elliot Smith was a talented songwriter, but he was also kind of a pansy. I'm certainly not happy he's dead...but that isn't going to stop me from saying his music was occassionally too wussy for my tastes.
Also, dude either stabbed himself in the heart FORTY times, or dated a girl who did it to him and then somehow made it look like a suicide...that's just strange either way.
